Nick and I got married on December 8, 2007 (for those of you who may not know). It was a wonderful almost fall like weather. We couldn't ask for better when we decided to plan a December wedding. The church (Trinity Baptist Church) was beautifully decorated for Christmas, which cut down my pre-wedding tasks.
It was an affair to remember, with family coming from all over especially for us. We couldn't have been happier. It is a day we shall cherish forever as one of the best days of our lives. Our friends looked wonderful as our wedding party. We are truly thankful that they graciously joined us for our special day.
The ceremony was short and sweet, just like we wanted. The only issue that we had was we couldn't get the unity candle lit, but through a little determination we set it on fire.

After the ceremony everyone headed to the Hilton - North Raleigh for the reception. The food was delicious and the cake was AMAZING! I had decided to carry on the poinsettia theme from the church with the cake. When I was looking for a baker I ran across Wedding Cakes by Jessica and she had a beautiful cake that looked much like mine. I had her make the flowers a little more red to go with my colors and add layer separators and wah-lah we had the beautiful cake you see on the right (just as tasty as it was beautiful.
We took some time during the reception to visit with people who came to celebrate with us and of course we enjoyed some dancing. And before we knew it it was time to leave. Really we pretending we were leaving and then heading upstairs for the night. The next morning we left for Munich, Germany where we spent a wonderful honeymoon week (highlights to come about that trip next).
It was a day we will not soon forget. It was a wonderful day and a dream come true (not that I want to do it again)! It was such a special day for us all.
More to come....
